DENSO top fund-raiser for March of Dimes
Date: 1999-05-14 DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc. took top honors for a ninth straight year in Battle Creek’s WalkAmerica fund-raiser on April 24, 1999 DMMI’s contribution of $14,570 was the largest among all area teams.
DENSO associates continue to prove their commitment to healthy babies with over 100 walkers taking to the streets to earn DMMI the award for the “Most Walkers.”
“The efforts of the March of Dimes are so important to the health and future of our babies,” says DMMI March of Dimes chairperson, Dani Hartman. “Witnessing our associates’ generosity for this cause is a testament to the leadership role that DMMI plays in this community.”
Even before the walk, DENSO associates celebrated the March of Dimes 60th anniversary theme of “Help Fund Breakthroughs for Babies” by raising $3,185 through on-site events. Activities included a pie-toss, ice cream social, prize raffle and a “Cutest Baby and Pet Contest.”
Also included in the total is $250 donated in the name of DENSO from II Stanley. This donation is the result of a spirited tug-of-war competition between the two companies to increase fundraising for the March of Dimes.
