DENSO Named To World's 100 Best List
Date: 1999-09-10

DENSO Corporation, global headquarters of DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc. (DMMI) has been named one of the World's 100 Best-Managed Companies by Industry Week magazine in its fourth annual list.

Each company was selected after a lengthy evaluation that included the following four steps: analysis of the company's financial performance; review of a questionnaire that each Industry Week 100 company was given an opportunity to complete; research into each company's practices in areas such as philanthropy and safety; and voting by a panel of more than 100 business leaders, analysts and academicians.

This is the second time the magazine has singled out DENSO for honors. In 1991, it named DMMI one of the 10 best manufacturing firms in the United States. Industry Week Editor-in-Chief John Brandt said: "Industry Week's 100 Best-Managed Companies demonstrate superior, consistent financial performance. We also honor these companies for investing heavily in such areas as research and development, new markets, employees and society."

Industry Week, published by Penton Media Inc., has more than 800,000 readers worldwide, including senior executives in manufacturing and supporting industries. DENSO, a global supplier of advanced technology, systems and components, is also the fourth largest automotive component supplier in the world, serving all major carmakers.
